Publish your mosque calendar once
Use Community calendars from /coordinator/calendars to prepare the information your mosque
wants the community to see. You publish one approved version; Kadim uses that same
version for the mosque profile, calendar, item page and live calendar subscriptions.
Create a calendar and item
- Open Community calendars and choose one of the five standard layers: Prayers and programmes, Classes and circles, Community events, Volunteer opportunities, or Services.
- Choose Add calendar if you need a named calendar under a layer. Enter the name your team uses and save it.
- Choose New calendar item, then enter its title, Invitation, venue, start and end time. Times are shown in Europe/London. Choose Save draft.
Saving a draft does not publish it. A draft can be read by its author and the people allowed by its current audience, but visitors still see nothing.
Choose who can see it
Choose an audience for the calendar default or for an individual item:
- Only me: the author.
- Planning team: current coordinators.
- Mosque workforce: current local members with a valid signed-in workforce or verified volunteer session.
- Public: eligible for explicit publication.
New calendars default to Planning team. An item can inherit that default or use its own override. Changing a default does not publish existing drafts. Widening an inherited item to Public needs a preview and explicit publication. Narrowing a public item withdraws its public details in the same change. Explicit item overrides are not silently changed by a default update.
Preview and publish
Open the item and choose Preview publication. Check the exact mosque name, calendar name, title, description, venue, date, time and time zone, and read where the information will appear. Previewing changes nothing public.
Choose Edit draft if you need to change anything. Save your edits before opening the preview again. The editor keeps the current publication status separate from the item audience.
When the preview is correct, choose Publish, or Publish changes for an existing publication. The same public revision then appears at:
/mosques/{org}/calendar/mosques/{org}/events/{item}- the upcoming section of
/mosques/{org} /mosques/{org}/subscribeand the named-calendar HTTPS.icslink
The public view contains only the approved invitation. It never shows an author, attendees, crew, private notes, safeguarding information or internal availability.
Keep public information current
Edit the draft, save it, preview the changed version and publish again. Until you publish, visitors continue to see the previous public revision. The item keeps its stable page and calendar identity, so an update does not create a second event.
If somebody else changed the item after your preview, refresh and preview again before publishing. A repeated publish request is safe and does not create another revision.
Cancel or withdraw
- Cancel event when the event is no longer going ahead. Its public page and calendar entry remain, clearly marked Cancelled; subscriptions receive a cancellation.
- Withdraw publication when the information should no longer be public. The page, profile, metadata and public calendar remove the former details. Subscriptions retain only a minimal withdrawal record so calendar apps can reconcile the change.
Downloaded copies cannot be removed remotely. Calendar apps decide when they refresh; Kadim does not send a message or RSVP reminder for publication.
Who can publish
A current local Coordinator, or a Mosque administrator where the admin pilot is enabled, can publish under the same access rules. A trustee, volunteer or OrgAdmin does not gain publishing permission from this feature. Suspended or archived mosques cannot publish; existing suspended publications follow the mosque's public lifecycle notice.
