Share your DBS status with a second mosque
This isn't available yet. Kadim cannot currently check a certificate with the DBS Update Service, so it does not offer to carry your status from one mosque to another. This guide explains what happens instead, and what we are building.
What happens today
If a role needs an enhanced DBS and the mosque doesn't have one on file for you, the roster tells you plainly and stops there. You will not be offered a way to bring a check across, because there is no way for Kadim to confirm one. Nothing you can do in the app produces a DBS status.
To help with a DBS-gated role at a new mosque, speak to that mosque's safeguarding contact. They can record a check they have actually seen, and that is what opens the role to you.
Why we took it out
Kadim briefly showed a "Share my DBS status" button on the refusal panel. The check behind that button was never connected to the real DBS Update Service, so it could not confirm anything. Rather than leave a control that looks like a safeguarding check but isn't one, we removed it.
We would rather tell you plainly that we can't do something than let a mosque believe a volunteer has been checked when nobody checked them. Safeguarding only means anything if every status on the screen is real.
What we are building
The plan is unchanged: your certificate, your consent, a status check with the DBS Update Service, and a record belonging to the second mosque alone. Your home mosque's records are never shared, read or moved, then or now. This guide will be rewritten with the real steps once the check works end to end.
What is unaffected
- Records a mosque already holds. A DBS a trustee recorded from a certificate they saw is real and still counts.
- Roles that don't need an enhanced DBS. Most don't, and you can claim those exactly as before.
- Your privacy. Kadim never stores the content of a certificate. See DBS and safeguarding, explained.
