Stop the texts

If Kadim's texts are no longer welcome, they can be stopped completely. It takes one message to a coordinator, and you do not have to explain why.

Replying to a text does not work

Kadim's texts arrive from the name Kadim rather than from a phone number. Sender names like that are one way only: they can send, but nothing can come back. If you reply STOP, or reply anything at all, it reaches nobody. We would rather say that plainly than let you text into silence.

What does work

Ask a coordinator at your mosque to do two things:

1. Take you off the team. That stops the gap alerts, the rota shares, the skill call-outs, the duty messages and the thank-yous at that mosque.
2. Release any slots you are still holding. A slot reminder is booked at the moment you claim, so it keeps its own copy of your number. Letting the slot go cancels the reminder with it.

Any coordinator can do both, from the team page and from the rota. Ask by whatever route you already use: in person after prayer, the group chat, or a phone call.

If you serve at more than one mosque, each one holds its own team, so ask at each of them.

Your sign-in code is different

The 6-digit code is only ever sent because you asked to sign in on a new device. Nothing sends it to you out of the blue, so there is nothing to switch off. If you never sign in again, no code is ever sent.

What stopping the texts does not change

• What you have already served stands. Leaving a team does not erase your history of service.
• You can come back. Claiming a slot from the mosque's share link puts you on the team again, and the texts come with it. The confirmation says so at the moment you claim.
• Nobody is told why. A coordinator sees that you left the team, never a reason.

Reading the rota without the texts

The share link your coordinator posts in the group works for anyone who has it, with no sign-in and no texts. That is how most volunteers keep an eye on the rota once the reminders are off.
